'Coaching is a challenge, and you've got to be prepared to stick with the ride. It affects not just work but your whole world: work becomes part of life and you're looking at life in a new way.
It was a case of changing gears upwards, quite dramatically. I got a much better take on life. You could see more, you could read the spaces better.
I find quite a lot in situations now, I'm aware of where it's going, working out where things are happening and why they're happening on one plane, whilst interacting on another plane. It's a bit like playing three-dimensional chess. Most of them are playing on the flat board, you're playing in three dimensions.'
